CSARTE
A seal of trust, beauty and transformation.
CSARTE connects retailers and artisans in an ethical and collaborative network that respects the rhythm of creation, values ancestral knowledge, and ensures a fair and sustainable value chain.
Here, every piece carries history, culture and dignity.
Every store becomes a bridge to a more conscious future.
Every link in the chain is built with care and helps sustain new generations of artisans.
Welcome to a new way of creating and sharing Brazilian craftsmanship.
"A project of NOSSO Brazil."
WHAT IS CSARTE?
CSARTE is a seal created to transform the way Brazilian craftsmanship is valued, marketed and protected in our contemporary world.
More than a seal, CSARTE is a living community that connects artisans, retailers and consumers through an ethical, sustainable and truly fair value chain — from the sourcing of raw materials to the point of sale.
What does CSARTE solve?
CSARTE was created to address structural challenges that have shaped the relationship between the market and Brazilian craftsmanship for decades:
-
The lack of financial stability for artisans, often caused by sporadic and irregular purchases.
-
The environmental and emotional impacts of imposing industrial production logic on traditional craft practices.
-
The gap between tradition and innovation, which often isolates artisans from their final consumers.
-
Difficulties related to delivery timelines and payment structures that meet the real needs of the market.
-
The imbalance between the profits of retailers and artisans, as well as unfair competition within the value chain.

HOW DOES CSARTE
WORKS
CSARTE is a project of the NGO NOSSO – Movimento pelo Bem-Estar no Brasil. It brings together artisan families who receive ongoing support from volunteer professionals, including technical guidance, continuous skill development, and assistance with production and commercialization management.
All families participating in CSARTE have actively contributed to building this model and maintain strong relationships of trust with the NGO’s team. They are committed to transforming craftsmanship into both a cultural expression and a source of dignified livelihood.
Shops that carry this seal demonstrate a commitment to the social, economic and environmental sustainability of the Brazilian craft value chain.
HOW PRODUCT CURATION
WORKS
Each handcrafted item included in the CSARTE portfolio undergoes a multi-step curation process that considers production feasibility, sustainability and market alignment.
Curation Process:
-
Identification of the main pieces produced by the artisan group.
-
Study of the production process and assessment of the natural cycles of raw materials.
-
Market analysis to identify the product categories most commonly found in craft and home décor stores.
-
Research of current market and design trends.
-
Definition of the most promising product categories and their key characteristics.
-
Review and adjustment of pricing to ensure market competitiveness while guaranteeing a fair profit margin for the artisan.
FAIR AND TRANSPARENT PRICING
The pricing of each piece follows a structured process designed to ensure that the artisan receives a net profit equal to or greater than that of the retailer.
Pricing Process:
-
Mapping the real costs of production, shipping, and time invested.
-
Market research to compare with similar products.
-
Adjustments to the product or production process to ensure competitiveness.
-
Application of a fair pricing formula, with revisions when necessary.
-
Verification of balance between the price paid by the retailer and the final retail price.
CONTINUOUS MINIMUM ORDER
MODEL
To ensure sustainability and predictability for everyone involved, CSARTE adopts an exclusive continuous minimum order model:
• The number of pieces is calculated to meet the store’s minimum demand for a six-month period.
• Payment is divided into six equal monthly installments starting from the order date, ensuring consistent monthly income for the artisans.
• Delivery takes place in two stages: half in the 3rd month and the remaining half in the 6th month after the order, allowing for better planning and predictability.
• Shipping is initially paid by the artisan and reimbursed by the retailer within up to three business days upon proof of shipment.
This model respects the artisan’s production rhythm, the natural cycles of raw materials, and avoids excess inventory in stores, preserving the exclusivity and quality of handcrafted pieces.
HOW TO BECOME
AN ORGANIZATIONAL PARTNER
The selection of partner retailers also follows a careful and ethical process:
Selection Process:
-
Internal curation of stores aligned with the values of the CSARTE seal.
-
Selected retailers are invited to join the network.
-
External retailers may also apply to participate and undergo an evaluation process.
-
All partners sign a Commitment and Ethics Agreement, committing to:
• Participating in meetings and exchanges with the artisans,
• Maintaining transparency in sales reports,
• Respecting the balance of profits between retailer and artisan.
TRANSPARENCY AND COMMITMENT
At the end of each 12-month cycle, partner retailers submit a sales report with the results for each product. These data are used to:
• Evaluate product performance.
• Adjust pricing and production for the next cycle.
• Ensure that artisans receive fair and increasing profits.
In addition, the CSARTE seal publishes an annual impact and sustainability report and is linked to the monthly accountability reports of the NGO NOSSO, ensuring full transparency.
EXCHANGE AND LEARNING WITHIN
A UNIQUE VALUE CHAIN

We appreciate the interest of each one.

CSARTE MANIFESTO
We believe in the time of the earth,
the time of the hands,
the time of stories.
We believe that craftsmanship is not a product —
it is expression, identity, living memory.
We do not accept haste where precision exists.
Nor profit that disrespects the origin of beauty.
Nor intermediaries that erase authorship.
We created the CSARTE seal to connect those who create with those who truly value their work.
To restore dignity to the craft.
So that every piece can travel from clay to counter
with fairness, care and balance.
We are a community.
We are a living network.
We are the present that sustains the future.
CSARTE – the seal for those who care for Brazilian craftsmanship.
